Get involved

Join the Society.

No prior AI experience required. Just curiosity and follow-through. AIS is built to take you from interested to genuinely capable, on a team that ships.

First step

Come to an interest meeting.

Three sessions, same content. Come to whichever one fits. See what we actually do: project teams, workshops, competitions, and the people building it all. Anyone curious is welcome, no experience needed and no major required.

Why join

Learn the real tools

A structured path from prompting and APIs to building full systems, taught by people actively shipping them.

Build things that ship

Work on real projects (internal tools, client problems, your own ventures) on the society's own infrastructure.

Find your people

A committed, Christ-centered community that takes the work, and each other, seriously.

The process

How to apply.

A short, real process: we're looking for fit and follow-through, not a perfect résumé.

Apply

Submit a short application telling us who you are and what draws you to AI. Open during each recruitment cycle.

Interview

A relaxed conversation with board members, about your interests, not a quiz.

Onboard

Accepted members get oriented to the society, the tools, and the current projects.

Foundation Series

Start the beginner-to-advanced track and ship something small, end to end.

Recruitment

Applications are open.

Submit your application online. It takes about ten minutes, and no prior AI experience is required.

Questions

Good things to know.

Do I need AI or coding experience?

No. Many members start with curiosity and nothing more. The Foundation Series exists precisely to take beginners to the point of contributing.

Do I have to be a business major?

AIS lives in the Hankamer School of Business, but applied AI touches every field. Students from across Baylor are welcome; diverse backgrounds make better teams.

What's the time commitment?

Expect regular meetings plus the time you put into projects and the Foundation Series. It scales with how involved you want to be, and it's most rewarding when you lean in.

When can I join?

We recruit in cycles. Applications are open now: start yours from the Apply button above, and we'll follow up about interviews.

Is there a cost?

Membership details, including any dues, are handled by Finance & Operations and shared during recruitment.

For companies & sponsors

Support the society

Sponsorships fund tooling, events, and competitions, and put your name in front of builders.
